How The Little Asian Guy "Psy" Affirms The Power of the Mighty American Marketing Machine

Thousands of screaming people when this guy came out to do his interview with Mario Lopez and Maria Menudo at the Grove last night. Dig the new sassy Asian craze that's so hot right now in fashion and beauty, just not getting this little guy. Thoughts?

Okay now I'm getting it.  Went to my sources to figure out the business side of his new popularity (of course I did).  Basically he's been around for like over 12 years in Asia, but just recently signed with new management (YG Entertainment) and since has had a ton of new social media celeb cross endorsements from American artists like Katie Perry and Brittany.  Views exploded on YouTube and now he's touring the American circuit (talk shows, etc) teaching everybody "Gangnam Style".

So today's little takeaway for me, is yet more affirmation:  America is STILL the most powerful branding/marketing machine in the world and it's not cool until Hollywood says it's cool.  Love it!

Fashion Designers Showcasing Tech During Fashion Week 2012

It seems that Tech, or I should say Silicon Valley continues to be wooed for its hand in marriage by  many industries.  First it was courted heavily by Hollywood for its gaming allure.  Now it seems the Fashion industry has shown up with roses in hand.

Fashion week is always full of the latest, most exciting designer creations.  This year was no different. However, tech was invited to the party, not only as production, but rather the star taking center stage.   I mean you know when Sarah Jessica Parker (aka forever Carrie) is matchie matchie with the new Google glasses debuted on the runway this year by Diane Von Furstenberg, the trend has legs.

Other designers were hot to tech trend their stuff too.  Christopher Baily of Burberry shares about his 2012 collection:  "I wanted the collection to be the celebration of these merging worlds." [physical & digital]

Young Hollywood Kicks off this Year's Fashion Night Out - LA

Merchants all over Los Angles are a buzz today, preparing for the annual fashion party of the year:  Fashion Night Out

One of the hottest hubs for the event is the Beverly Center on Beverly Blvd.  Tonight  its 100+ retailers will welcome the attendees of the 3rd annual Center Court Fashion Show tonight beginning at 7PM.

It would not be a Hollywood event without a red carpet and of course celebrities.  This year the theme is “Young Hollywood”.  Teen celebs such as famed Kardashian little sister and model Kendall Jenner is not only this year’s Beverly Center poster girl, but also confirmed to attend the festivities.  Lucy Hale, star of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” will host the first two runway fashion shows.  Other young Hollywood celebrities confirmed to attend include Francesca Eastwood  and Kendra Wilkinson

Love seeing young girls owning their greatness!   Looking forward to a great night!
