How to Let Color Infuse Confidence

Today was very much supposed to become another reason to drink.  First thing on the agenda was a long settlement meeting between some partners,  investors and attorneys.  My plan was to dress in cheerful hues to remind myself of the bright spots of my life while tensions escalated and moods darkened.  I picked an orange and pink Vannabella scarf (a birthday gift from the designer herself) that lifted my spirit every time I looked down...and can I tell ya?  It totally worked.  Gave the opposing side a freaking hug when we were done for goodness sakes!

Fashion Designers Showcasing Tech During Fashion Week 2012

It seems that Tech, or I should say Silicon Valley continues to be wooed for its hand in marriage by  many industries.  First it was courted heavily by Hollywood for its gaming allure.  Now it seems the Fashion industry has shown up with roses in hand.

Fashion week is always full of the latest, most exciting designer creations.  This year was no different. However, tech was invited to the party, not only as production, but rather the star taking center stage.   I mean you know when Sarah Jessica Parker (aka forever Carrie) is matchie matchie with the new Google glasses debuted on the runway this year by Diane Von Furstenberg, the trend has legs.

Other designers were hot to tech trend their stuff too.  Christopher Baily of Burberry shares about his 2012 collection:  "I wanted the collection to be the celebration of these merging worlds." [physical & digital]

Young Hollywood Kicks off this Year's Fashion Night Out - LA

Merchants all over Los Angles are a buzz today, preparing for the annual fashion party of the year:  Fashion Night Out

One of the hottest hubs for the event is the Beverly Center on Beverly Blvd.  Tonight  its 100+ retailers will welcome the attendees of the 3rd annual Center Court Fashion Show tonight beginning at 7PM.

It would not be a Hollywood event without a red carpet and of course celebrities.  This year the theme is “Young Hollywood”.  Teen celebs such as famed Kardashian little sister and model Kendall Jenner is not only this year’s Beverly Center poster girl, but also confirmed to attend the festivities.  Lucy Hale, star of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” will host the first two runway fashion shows.  Other young Hollywood celebrities confirmed to attend include Francesca Eastwood  and Kendra Wilkinson

Love seeing young girls owning their greatness!   Looking forward to a great night!

Louis Vuitton Web Designs for the Global Cloud Culture

Symbolic meaning is all around us; however in a new commercial world united by social web participants, it’s hard to draw the geographic boundaries on the perceptions formed from the symbolic meanings of a specific culture. To better clarify, "culture" is the patterned defined meaning of the symbols we see out there in the world. An individual’s interpretation of that symbolic value is the perception value those symbols are given from their target audience. As the old saying goes: Perception is reality.

On an internet marketing strategy level, of course design must lend itself to the culture of it’s target audience. However, use of color for regional sectors or international code is important. Most important (now a days) is the global understanding that dwells within the cloud. Take the high level of ambiguity specifically in the high fashion industry. As abstract as it is, perception and value are instant when one sees a pattern like this one:

Exploring it further, let's look the Louis Vuitton site. Immediately upon first impression, one is greeted with the choice of language and a textured background of travel stamps in the reds, blues and other hues that cater to all nationalities. It represents the vibrant meaning of happiness, luck and joy of Asia. It also captures the blue hues favored by the Mediterranean and the vibrant yellows of Latin America.
When entering the site under the various languages, you presented with photographic menu options transporting you all over the world. These are photos that translate to all cultures, but within each landing page, are specific photographic images relevant to the their dominating country of region. This is brilliant because they are requesting an active participation of the viewer to embark on the jet set lifestyle Louis Vuitton is trying to sell.
